Jason has worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs since 2012. Prior to his current VSOC position he worked for seven years as a Veteran Service Officer for the VFW. Jason served in the United States Army as a Forward Observer with the 101st Airborne and was wounded in Iraq in 2003. Jason’s experience with his own recovery as well as assistance from his Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor yielded him the opportunity to work for the VFW and to continue working with veterans as a VSOC Counselor. He is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Jason has seen first-hand the impact a counselor can have on a veteran’s life after service and enjoys working in a supporting role for our nation’s heroes. He has been married for 12 years to his high school sweetheart Julie and is the proud father of Connor age seven and Cora age four. He enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, Mizzou football and creating new adventures for his kiddos.
