FOCUS Marine graduate and mentor SSgt Jedidiah “J” Vermillion (FOCUS, June 2012) was honored by the Joshua Chamberlain Society at their annual gala banquet on Jan 30, 2016. SSgt Vermillion of Jackson, Missouri joined an elite group of JCS honored heroes for his selfless service and sacrifice. The JCS video below about J and his family speaks for itself….

The Joshua Chamberlain Society (“JCS”) is a charity that was formed with the mission of providing long term support to veterans that have suffered permanent combat injuries fighting the long war on terror for our nation. JCS also supports the children of veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country to insure  freedom and security.

Each year JCS adopts – in the truest meaning of that word – only one hero for recognition and ongoing support by their organization. This is the second year that Focus Marines Foundation is privileged to have one of our graduates honored by JCS.  In 2015, USA Sgt Mike Shuster  (FOCUS, September 2012) was the honored JCS hero.
