I know that the whole creep, crawl, walk, run concept is an easy one to overlook but I would like to break it down in terms of my experience.  Hopefully it will resonate with you all.

Creep- To me the creep phase was the HARDEST.  It was finally and absolutely accepting that I had problems and I needed to get outside help to correct them.

Crawl- The crawl was finally letting my issues out.  Vocalizing them to another human being.  It was tremendously difficult the 1st time I did that but it become a little easier to do it each time since.

Walk- For me this step is where I am now.  I continue to share my story and grow.  I have hope now for the 1st time in 14 years.  I hope to continue to grow and get to a point where I am well enough to help others.

Run- Once I get well I want to have the courage and discipline to achieve my goals.

The other thing I want to share is that in my experience, being open-minded has helped me more than anything.  I, unlike a lot of you, was and still am a lot of the times, closed minded.  I have to remind myself daily to be open minded and open and willing to change and new ideas.  I have tried it my way for a long time and wasn’t working at all.  Just remember to hold onto the courage, hope, and discipline to change yourself.

Thanks,
